10th Anniversary of my blogging: 1. (Novel) Sitaron se Aage, 2.(Trishul Comics #7) Hataya Robot and 3. (Scanlation) Taar - The Rebel --Very 1st time Taar speaks Eng...Hurrah!

๐ŸŽ‡Never thought I'll stay here for 10 years.
๐ŸŽ‡Never thought I'll give  shoulder in some rare stuffs in such quantity.
๐ŸŽ‡But, I always wished to see completed. Where it was never important for me. But something happened here, later at indrajal-online.blogspot.com
๐ŸŽ‡Again 3 rare series are flowing... some amazing projects are going on... and I wished to return in this mode in 2019-2020 only.

Came at net to collect some comics and books I love. Later to help persons who were missed such stuffs like me, I started blogging.
My motto was very simple: If not available, I'll do such way ...many shan't miss ...
In this journey met with many people (names are given in every post) ... lot of memories.
Thanks for your love and support! Our journey from "I" to"We" is the main driving force behind such longevity.
Life forced me to become passive from blogging for some years, Venkitachalam Subramanian was single handedly doing all job with selfless effort by Emile.

Another member "IUnKnown" is busy fulfilling his real world's responsibilities. But, the game is not over....

One more friend "Rajesh" has joined us. Amazing passion for comics. He is not only helping from front in out of print Hindi Indrajal Comics  at indrajal-online.blogspot.com , but you'll enjoy his stuffs here and other friends blog too. Some mind blowing projects you are going to read soon.

What is common between these 5 (in fact, many more)?
We are living in different continents at different places and never met - one and only point - Love for books and comics.
We love some certain classical series, characters and some out of print books and comics.
We are just trying to fill gaps ...free ...without any direct and indirect rewards ...
For me, all shared in this blog are out of print as where I live - as can't find in English or Hindi.

เคฐाเค— เคฆเคฐเคฌाเคฐी (Raag Darbari) by เคถ्เคฐीเคฒाเคฒ เคถुเค•्เคฒ (Shrilal Shukla)

Before I start posting some rare strips, sharing a worth Hindi novel for collection. If you read this book once, always like to open again and again.

Two words about this book: Raag Darbari (Melody of the Court, one of the ragas, 1968) is one of the most famous Hindi novels written by Srilal Shukla, an author known for his social and political satire.

Shrilal Shukla (1925 - 2011), an IAS officer, is renowned for his objective and purposive satire in contemporary Hindi fiction. In 1957, he published his first novel, Sooni Ghat ka Sooraj (The Sun of a Desolate Valley) followed by a series of satires Amgada Ka Pamva (Angada's Foot) in 1958. His Raag Darbari  is the first satirical novel of its kind in Hindi spanning a wide spectrum of post-Independence rural India, specifically Avadh. It was Shrilal Shukla who took wit, irony and sarcasm to great heights in Hindi literature. He was awarded the Sahitya Academy Award, the highest Indian literary award, in 1970 for this novel.

Novel on deteriorating values in the cities of India as compared to the village life. The novel highlights the failing values present in post-Independence Indian society. It exposes the helplessness of intellectuals in the face of a strong and corrupt nexus between criminals, businessmen, police and politicians. Though a lot has changed in 40+ years since the book was first written, but you can see almost everything even today. The core of our society has not changed.

Every page of the book has humour. The language and humour stood out everywhere, both in dialogue and in narration.

Premchand and some more Hindi links.

This one for my friend Rakesh. Earlier planned to add it later. My favorite Hindi writer since 1978.

Premchand (1880-1936)

the man...
His real name was Dhanpat Rai but he is famous with his pen name of Premchand or Munshi Premchand. He was born in Pandepur, a village near Banaras (now Varanasi). His father Munshi Ajaib Lal was a clerk in the Postal Department. Premchand was just eight years old when his mother died. His grand-mother took the responsibility of raising him, but she died soon after that. Meanwhile his father married again and Premchand was left without the love of his father too.
He was married when he was 15 and was in the 9th grade. His father also died and after passing the intermediate he had to stop his study. He got a job as a teacher in the Primary School, after a series of promotion he became Deputy Inspectors of Schools. In response to Mahatma Gandhi call of non-cooperation with the British he quit his job. After that he devoted his full attention to writing. His first story appeared in the magazine Zamana published from Kanpur.

his novels...
Before Premchand; Nazeer Ahmad, Sarshar and Mirza Hadi Ruswa have written novels in Urdu. But Premchand has a unique place when it comes to Urdu novels and short stories. He emphasized in presenting the realities of life and he made Indian Villages his center of writing. His novels describe the problems faced by the villagers and poor and what could be the solutions. How the priests, local business folks (mahajan) and the landlords were exploiting the villagers. He also emphasized on the Hindu-Muslim unity. His famous works include Gau-daan, Maidan-e-Amal, Bay-waH, Chaugaan etc.

short stories...
It would not be wrong to say Premchand as the Father of Urdu Short- Stories. Short stories or afsana was started by Premchand. As with his novels, his afsanas, also mirrors the society that he lived in. With a break from the past his characters are not all good or bad but somewhere in between. His characters are based on real life people and as in real life sometime we see a good side or the bad side of the person.
Premchand's style of writing is simple and flowing some of his works shows very good use of satire and humor. His later works used very simple words and he started including Hindi words too to honestly portray his characters. In the later stages of his life He turned his attention to Hindi and now Premchand is claimed by both Urdu and Hindi literature as their own. His famous afsanas are qaatil ki maaN, zewar ka DibbaH, gilli DanDa, eidgaah, namak ka darogHaaH, kafan. His collected stories have been published as prem pachisi, prem battisi, wardaat, zaad-e-raah etc.
